Landing Gear and Cabanes
Landing Gear:
We manufacture landing gear for most of our designs.
(There are exceptions, such as the Fairchild 24. Sierra Giant Scale makes the
nose gear for models such as Cessna designs, and main gear for designs like the
PT-19). In most designs, wire gear shown on the plans will be modified to 6061T6
aluminum gear.
In some
cases, you will have to add balsa wood fairings to the front and/or back of the
gear to achieve the scale look. After the balsa fairing(s) are added, fiberglass
over the gear and fairing to make it one unit. We have found this very practical
and the end result looks great.
For a few designs, an aluminum gear is not practical,
therefore we will make a wire gear. The wire gear is more expensive because of
the increased time it takes to fabricate it.
The aluminum gear is $75 plus postage, and the wire
gear is $125 plus postage.
To Order:
1. Contact us,
with the information about your particular model, and your shipping address.
2. We will verify the gear is available for your particular
model.
We have some gear
in stock for the more popular models.
We will then start production of your gear, if needed.
Gear we need to produce may take two to three weeks
before it is shipped.
3.
Once the gear is ready to be shipped, we will invoice you for the gear plus
postage via PayPal.
4. When the invoice is paid, the gear will be shipped.
Cabanes:
Cabanes are $125 plus postage.
Contact us for
availability. Cabanes are made to order. The invoicing will be the same as the
landing gear as noted above.
